| 1 Herr, neige deine Himmel und fahr herab; | Lord, bow thy heavens and come down, |
| 2 Taste die Berge an, so rauchen sie, | Touch the mountains so that they smoke. |
| 3 Lass blitzen und zerstreuen sie; | Send forth lightning and scatter them; |
| 4 Wirf deine Strahlen und schrecke sie. | Shoot your arrows and destroy them. |
| 5 Sende deine Hand aus der Höhe | Send your hand from the heights |
| 6 Und erlöse mich von grossen Wassern, | And save me from great waters, |
| 7 Und errette mich von der Hand der fremden Kinder. | And preserve me from the hand of foreign peoples. |
